Interdisciplinary Programme in Climate Studies, IIT Bombay publishes the first issue of the quarterly Newsletter of the department. Keeping in mind the mission of fostering fundamental understanding and problem centered analysis of climate change science and solutions from local to global scales, the Interdisciplinary Programme in Climate Studies was initiated at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, in January 2012, as one of the first doctoral programmes in India addressing research related to climate change. Over 25 faculty participants are drawn from 10 departments across IIT Bombay, who increasingly apply a depth of expertise in their fields to address the complexity of climate change. Currently, over 40 PhD students and 6 post-doctoral candidates are enrolled for the programme. The newsletter includes highlights of research done recently, awards received by the students, workshops and conferences attended by the students.
